About the Project

This AR-15 pistol was built to look like Han Solo’s DL-44 Blaster from the Star Wars trilogy, but the parts used to build it were in a variety of finishes and the receivers were  in a (slightly mismatched) black anodized finish.

Han Solo’s blaster was made from a blued and very well-worn Mauser C96 Broomhandle pistol, so to create a finish that looks like worn bluing, we started with a metallic basecoat, and then applied a lightly worn gloss black top coat.
